Happy Birthday to Me

This post is a few days late.  Okay.  Maybe a week, but whatever.

Last week I turned 31.  It was an odd day, like any other.  I honestly didn't really even think of it as my birthday until my sister-in-law made a comment about having a "birthday party" for our scheduled play date.  I guess I'm just at the point where I'm so focused on my kids' birthday and events that mine are OK being in the background.

Don't get me wrong.  I'd love a parade every year on my birthday.  Tons of people calling and shouting "We are so glad that you were born!"  But let's be realistic.  A simple kiss from the hubs and a "tight hug" from the girls saying "We love you Mom," is really pretty perfect.

But we had to do SOMETHING for my birthday.  Something to "celebrate."  So of course, it was family friendly and an absolutely wonderful day.  Nate took the day off, and we took the kids to the Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe.  Avery was perfectly content to watch her big sister go on rides all day - oohing and ahhing at the kids and the squeals.  Saved me $30 on a all-day wristband for her, so we could have a beer at lunch!

I got to use my new camera.
I've mentioned my new baby, the Rebel T3.  Love it.  Loved playing with it.
I felt a little "touristy" with my long lens on, but the shots I was able to snap - I could care less what the other dips at the MOA thought of me that day.

Here comes the bragging...
